Sampinog Family Seafood Restaurant

One spot that stole our hearts is nestled near the beautiful Bamboo Beach, and we found ourselves irresistibly drawn to this delightful family restaurant. Tucked away close to the southern tip of Koh Lanta, it became our food haven.

Picture this – a warm breeze carrying the salty flavor of the ocean, stunning vistas overlooking Bamboo Beach, and an atmosphere so cozy and tasting aromas coming from the kitchen. That’s the setting that made our dining experiences here truly unforgettable. If you happen to find yourself near Bamboo Beach, trust us, you don’t want to miss this gem for a delightful culinary adventure.
The charm of the restaurant lies not only in its inviting atmosphere but also in the cool breeze coming from the Bamboo Beach. You can actually catch a glimpse of the beach from your dining spot. There’s also a gorgeous spot perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy photos!

At this restaurant, you’ll discover an extensive selection of dishes ranging from Thai and European cuisine, showcased in one of the thickest menus we’ve encountered on Koh Lanta. Deciding what to order was quite the task, as the menu was packed with so many delicious choices. In fact, the menu boasts an impressive 403 items! We were tempted to order everything on the menu!

We were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the prices, ranging from 100 to 550 THB. The catch of the day, although the priciest item on the menu, was still within a reasonable range.

This spot serves up the most delightful mango smoothie on the island, and it’s a steal at just 80 baht!

And here’s a little extra treat for animal lovers – adorable doggies on-site that always manage to steal the spotlight!

The Ocean Restaurant – Indian & International Food
In the heart of Koh Lanta’s historic old town sits the Ocean Restaurant, a charming Indian dining spot overlooking the ocean. As we dined, we discovered the chef’s fascinating journey from India to Thailand, which added a unique charm to our experience. Each dish carried the essence of his years spent in India, bursting with delightful aromas and exotic spices.

With the gentle ocean breeze and colorful boats passing by, our meal became a delight, blending delicious flavors with picturesque views. As we watched fishermen bring in their fresh catches, the best music we’d heard in a restaurant so far played softly in the background, adding to the experience. It was a great feast for the senses.

The restaurant provides a stunning view of Ko Poi island, perfect for enjoying during your meal. And for an exciting post-lunch activity, why not hop aboard a long-tail boat and explore the island’s beauty up close?

If you’ve been keeping up with our travel adventures, you’d already know that Lina has constant love for mango smoothies, and they’re a must in her order every time.

We opted for the Indian set, a delightful selection comprising chicken curry, samosa chicken, butter naan, yellow rice, mint raita, and papadum, all for just 500 THB. We found it utterly delicious and ended up returning to this spot several times throughout our stay, unable to resist its tempting flavors.
The prices range from 100 THB to 700 THB, ensuring there’s something to suit every budget and craving.

At Ocean Restaurant, we couldn’t resist trying their mouthwatering burgers. We had to try both, the chicken and beef options, and they certainly lived up to our expectations. After being on the road for a while, there’s something special about enjoying a delicious burger. Priced at 180 THB for the chicken burger and 200 THB for the beef burger.

And if you’re in the mood for a comforting soup, we highly recommend their mushroom soup priced at 110 THB. It’s the perfect way to warm up and treat your taste buds.

While enjoying our meal, we had a surprise visitor—a furry friend purring happily beside us during our lunch. As animal lovers, it was a delightful and heartwarming experience to share our dining space with such a cute creature.

Though the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we opted to visit for dinner. The menu boasted a wide variety of options, ensuring there was something for everyone. And to kick off our meal, we couldn’t resist trying their delicious mango and pineapple smoothies.

We were craving seafood, so we decided to go for the famous Thai Tom Yum soup which was amazing. Tom Yum soup is a popular Thai dish known for its bold flavors and aromatic spices. This hot and sour soup is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, thanks to its irresistible combination of tangy lime, spicy chili, and fragrant lemongrass. Traditionally made with shrimp, mushrooms, and other fresh ingredients, Tom Yum soup offers a tantalizing taste of Thai cuisine, and it was 250 THB. We also learned that the name “Tom Yum” originates from two Thai words: “tom,” which refers to the boiling process, and “yam,” meaning ‘mixed.’ This name perfectly captures the essence of the soup, which is created by boiling together a mix of herbs, spices, and other ingredients to create a flavorful broth.
In addition to the soup, we also indulged in some mouthwatering fried rice with shrimp, sweet and sour shrimp, and sweet and sour seafood, all reasonably priced at 150 THB each. Every bite was packed with flavor, and our server added to the enjoyment with their great sense of humor.

Fresh Restaurant
The Fresh Restaurant: A Beachfront Gem Offering a Bounty of Seafood Delights. Our meal began with a refreshing Mango Smoothie, priced at just 50 THB. Each dish boasted homemade flavors and authentic taste

We decided to start our culinary journey with a delectable appetizer of Garlic Cheese Bread, priced at 60 THB. For our main course, we opted for the flavorful Thai Veggie Chicken, priced at 80 THB, and indulged in the aromatic Lemongrass Duck, priced at 120 THB. The taste of each dish spoke volumes about the restaurant’s dedication to serving authentic cuisine.

Laanta Sea Food Restaurant
Laanta Seafood Restaurant, nestled in Old Town Koh Lanta, provided us with a fantastic lunch experience. The serene ocean view and gentle sea breeze made for a truly relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the soothing Thai music enhanced the ambiance of this charming establishment as we enjoyed our meal.

This time, we both decided on the same dish: authentic Pad Thai with chicken, priced at 80 THB. The chef, an elderly lady, demonstrated her expertise in preparing this classic dish, resulting in a truly delicious meal.

The meal wouldn’t be complete without the refreshing Mango Smoothie for 50 THB. Additionally, we tried the Beet Smoothie for another 50 THB, adding a delightful twist to our dining experience.

Pinky Restaurant
During our Koh Lanta stay, we had the pleasure of dining at Pinky Restaurant multiple times. The restaurant’s close to our resort made it an easy choice for a delicious meal. Being a family-owned establishment, Pinky Restaurant always served fresh, well-prepared dishes that were bursting with flavor.

With outdoor seating available and a wide variety of dishes to choose from, there was always something new to try. Whether we were in the mood for seafood, Thai specialties, or pizza, there was always something to satisfy our cravings.

The restaurant staff was incredibly sweet and friendly, adding to the warmth of our dining experience.

We ordered Thai curry seafood soup and Thai curry chicken, both accompanied by steamed rice on the side. Each dish was priced at 200 THB. The flavors were incredibly tasty, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the dish.

During one of our visits, the owner of the restaurant recommended that we try their Thai pizza with Tom Yum sauce. Intrigued by her suggestion, we decided to go for the seafood pizza with this unique twist. It turned out to be a delicious choice! The blend of flavors was simply incredible. If you ever have the chance to visit Thailand, I highly recommend trying the pizza with Tom Yum sauce—it’s simply the best pizza ever. The strong spice, hot, and sour flavors of Tom Yum sauce perfectly complement the seafood pizza, making it a true Thai culinary delight.

Lanta Sure Restaurant
We stumbled upon Lanta Sure restaurant on a rainy day during our stay. It was conveniently located near our resort, so we thought we’d give it a try. The food definitely lived up to our expectations, with its extensive menu offering a wide variety of options.

The restaurant itself was charming—a large wooden hut with a thatched roof and wooden tables. The rain only enhanced the atmosphere, accompanied by the soothing sounds of Thai music blending with the rhythmic patter of raindrops.

With such a variety of mouthwatering options available, making a decision can be quite challenging! If you’re anything like us, you’ll be tempted to try every item on the menu.

Buffet El Pillax
Buffet El Pillax came highly recommended by our local friends in Koh Lanta, and now we know why. This beachfront seafood barbecue restaurant boasts stunning ocean views and breathtaking sunsets. The setting is simply amazing, with tables set right on the sand, allowing you to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
The dinner buffet at Buffet El Pillax is priced at 399 THB per person. However, if you’re planning to visit on a Friday or Saturday, the price goes up slightly to 599 THB per person. Not only do you get to indulge in a delightful feast, but you also get to enjoy live music and a fire show—all included in the price.

We started the evening in true island style, enjoying refreshing mango smoothies and passion fruit smoothies. As we enjoyed our drinks, we were treated to live music from a talented band.

We really enjoyed the band; they played a mix of Thai music and some late radio hits. The lead singer had a fantastic voice.

Let me tell you about the buffet selection—it was truly impressive! There was an abundance of delicious options to choose from.

The selections were divided into different sections, including veggies, seafood, meats, pizza, and drinks. With such a tempting array of dishes, it was hard to choose, and we found ourselves wanting to try everything.

Baked mussels with cheese and garlic are an absolute favorite of ours, and they were absolutely delicious!

In front of each table, there’s a barbecue grill. Once you’ve selected your seafood and veggies, you can barbecue them yourself right at your table.

This guy was incredibly delicious and wonderfully crunchy.

The fire show was truly amazing and the performers displayed incredible skill and precision with each fiery display. Watching the flames dance and hearing the crackle of the fire added an unforgettable element to our dining experience.

Sea Culture Restaurant
You can’t visit Koh Lanta without experiencing a beachfront restaurant right on the sand. With so many options to choose from along Relax Bay Beach, spending a day soaking up the sun and enjoying the sea breeze wouldn’t be complete without a meal at Sea Culture Restaurant. After a delicious lunch, take advantage of the beach beds and unwind with your favorite drink in hand. It’s the perfect way to relax and soak in the beauty of Koh Lanta’s stunning coastline.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, including a perfect selection for vegans.

We opted for a delicious serving of vegetables paired with steamed rice. The veggies were priced at 100 THB, while the steamed rice was an additional 30 THB.
